ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab is a Future Port Prague partner
› Future Port Prague is the largest event for technological innovations in Central Europe
› ŠKODA AUTO will showcase its VISION X concept car at the futuristic expo
Mladá Boleslav, 28 August 2018 – ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab will support the Future Port Prague
expo on 6 and 7 September as an official partner. ŠKODA AUTO’s think tank will exhibit
current projects as well as innovative gadgets, and intends to scout for new talent at the
event’s festival. What’s more, the car manufacturer from Mladá Boleslav will present its
VISION X crossover study for the first time to a wider range of experts in its homeland.
Andre Wehner, as Chief Digital Officer at ŠKODA AUTO responsible for Corporate Development
and Digitalization explained, “As the largest platform for discussing technological innovations in
Central Europe, Future Port Prague is the ideal environment for finding young talent for our vision
of future mobility.” Martin Holečko, the founder of the event, added, “Future Port gives everybody
the opportunity to experience the future now. In a tangible, on-the-spot and hands-on way as well
as through inspiring conversations and talks.”
Alongside the conference, workshops and a symposium on machine ethics, the futuristic festival is
also a key component of Future Port Prague. This is where ŠKODA AUTO will be showcasing its
VISION X crossover concept car, which celebrated its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show
back in March. In Prague, the car manufacturer will now present it to a wider range of experts in the
Czech Republic for the first time. The design study is the first hybrid in ŠKODA history to combine
CNG, petrol and electric drive. The vehicle is rigorously continuing the digitalisation of ŠKODA
models and offers digital mobility services such as Smart Parking, the car-sharing service
HoppyGo, or CareDriver – which supports people requiring assistance in their everyday lives with
mobility services.
Furthermore, together ŠKODA AUTO and ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab will be presenting two of their
car-sharing projects: HoppyGo, a peer-to-peer car-sharing service, and Uniqway, a car-sharing
service for students. For ŠKODA AUTO, the ‘Shareconomy’, i.e. the sharing of things and services,
is just as much a part of the mobility of tomorrow as digital mobility services are.
ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab will exhibit current projects and innovative gadgets at Future Port Prague.
As part of the official program, ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab will host the Impact Meeting “Future of
Mobility” on the 7th of September. The most respected speakers and global mobility leaders from
different countries will discuss key topics about future of mobility and different opportunities for new
business development, how to enhance current automotive industry. At the event, the think tank
from Prague will also scout for young talent, who want to contribute their ideas to the development
of digital mobility solutions, and who want to actively help shape ŠKODA AUTO’s transformation
into the ‘Simply Clever company for the best mobility solutions’.
